About Me

Welcome! My name is Debra and I am the photographer behind Doodlebug Designz.  My business name is derived from a childhood nickname that my dad gave me when I was born, Doodles.  As a child, I didn’t care much for being called “Doodles” but as I got older, it grew on me.  I thought it was a cute and fitting name for the type of photography I do.

I reside in Southern New Jersey, with my husband Brian and our Dorkie Lily.  I am a mom to a daughter and a grandma to a beautiful little boy.  

In 2008 my husband gave me a camera as a Christmas gift.  In February 2009 I was laid off from my job and it seemed like an opportune time to learn how to use the camera.  I enrolled in online courses and began learning and teaching myself how to take photographs. 

Over the years, photography has helped me get through battling cancer, it has taught me patience and most importantly it gives me a sense of peace and joy. 

Besides sharing my experiences, views and adventures in my blog, I also offer greeting cards, and prints.  I always look forward to hearing from you, if you would like to contact me, you can reach me at debra@doodlebugdesignz.com.
